Hellenika at The Calile

We visited here for NYE Lunch, didn’t have a booking but we were easily accommodated and had one of the best food and service experiences of our lives. We’re from WA and happened to wonder across this place and wow! Do not skip past the white anchovies. Thank you so much to the staff who made our spontaneous casual lunch so amazing. The cocktails are special, the food is beyond good and again, the service was impeccable. Thank you!

Go for the vibe rather than the food or drinks. The staff were amazing and knew the menu well. The venue was dimly lit, boisterous and voices had to be raised to heard. Loud celebration is the label for the atmosphere. With respect to the drinks, the Athena Spritz was highly recommended and the Watermelon Cooler was good. Unfortunately, the other pictured drinks were average at best. For a food menu that was designed to be shared, each dish was found to be quite small for its price. Aside from the Classic Baked Lamb, all the other dishes pictured should really be shared amongst no more than two if you wanted anything more than two cocktail-sized bites. The Saganaki and Lamb were highly recommended while the remaining featured a blandness that was weakly masked with unimpressive seasoning. Overall, the substantial cost goes mostly to the loud, aesthetic atmosphere rather than the food or drinks.

Our experience at Hellenika was lovely. The aesthetics were stunning, the drinks were fantastic and the service was top notch. The restaurant and hotel definitely draws a certain crowd and they did try to push in, despite us having a reservation and they did not. Initially it bought a bit of a rift in our evening but then Hellenika’s vibes made up for it. The food was good, not outstanding but still very delicious. The service, atmosphere and cocktails were definitely worth the visit though. We got the tasting menu back in 2021 and 2022. We spent $80-110 per head including a few cocktails and a glass of wine each with dinner.

This place is vibey. Go for the experience, the atmosphere and to be seen.. vs just the food Entrees were just ok. Expected more given the price point .. and caché of the brand Must get: the zucchini fries > wow! Special this week was the lamb chops. While cooked well, taste was bit bland Lamb skewers were in the same boat. Had no salt, barely any flavor.. and came with a side portion of tzatziki fit for a mouse Feta cheese in the Greek salad was tasty Outside area is cool. Can sit and eat there, enjoy the music.. or hang out by the pool Vibes? Check. Service? Ok. Food? Could be better

I'd give this 4.75 for food, except the potatoes in the roast lamb were too salty, so I'm giving the food 3.75. Everything else was brilliant. Saganki was just right. Of course, it's salty, but that's ok because of what it is. Octupus .... brilliant. charing perfect. Zucchini Chips is just a bad recipe idea because the flavour of Zucchini is subtle and easily overpowered by anything else. Anyhow, they were yummy. Spanakopita.... Lip smacking Lamb Roast Absolutely brilliant except the potatoes were too too salty. Green beans... perfect

Great experience. Food was delicious. We had the banquet and it was flavourful and fresh, plenty of food to go round and they even let you take leftovers home. Service was good as staff were polite, professional and even allowed us to swap out something in the banquet. Ambience is stylish with great views if you sit near the pool. Price was reasonable for the experience.
